The Story Behind the Q Platform™
message from Eric Blumthal, count5
co-founder and CEO
I started count5 because I was a salesperson who never read his email. Don't get
me wrong, I'm not talking about email from a customer or prospect - I treated
those with urgency. I'm talking about that sea of email I got from my boss and
from dozens of other resources from within my company. I was always
well-intended, but I never read them.
In fact, I cannot remember a job where I didn't have over 1,000 unread
emails from my company.
I was always "that guy"; the guy who didn't take notes in
salesforce.com; the guy who called marketing for collateral instead of
looking in the sales portal; the guy who paid little attention to
changes in strategy and process because I knew it was likely a
policy of the month
that wouldn't stick. Luckily, for over 20 years I was also the guy who
knew his products better than anyone else in the company; I was the guy
who crushed his numbers every year; I was the guy who always empowered
and helped other sales reps; and I was the guy with the most loyal
customers - so I guess in the end I delighted management more than I
frustrated them.
My
"maverick" behavior as a rep influenced my management style tremendously
when I became a senior Sales/Marketing VP. Realizing that "status quo"
methods of communicating, collaborating and directing often fell into
the tick the box category, I made sure we always used innovative
communication / reinforcement methods for the really important things.
While very effective, these methods were also high maintenance, hard to
scale and resource-intensive. So I continued my journey to find a better
(and easier) way.
count5's introduction of the Q platform in June 2006 was the beginning
of that better way, and to date has been used by over 40,000 sales
people by leading companies in multiple markets.
I encourage you to give Q a chance - it's shockingly easy to try. If you
believe a triple digit improvement in sales communications effectiveness
can have an impact on results, then you owe it to yourself to pick up
the phone and talk to us.
Thank you again for your interest in count5. Good selling!
